Student Victim Advocates
Volunteer as a Student Victim Advocate where you will provide resources and support to students on campus. Applications OPEN NOW for Spring 2023.
Position Summary
Student Victim Advocates are available as a resource to students who have experienced sexual violence. Victims can visit with a Student Victim Advocate to learn about resources available on campus.
Student Victim Advocates will respond to calls between the hours of 5:00pm – 8:00am during the week, as well as over the entire weekend. Their role will be to assist and support students that receive a SANE exam at Stillwater Medical Center, provide basic resources and support, and refer students to a professional advocate the next business day.

Requirements & Training
Mandatory training will be provided to ensure Student Victim Advocates are properly equipped to discuss the stated topics and can appropriately respond to students and the Cowboy community.
The requirements of this position are listed below:
- Attend two mandatory in-service trainings each semester.
- Contribute ideas, skills, etc. with a positive attitude.
- Regular availability to cover on call response rotation.
