1 is 2 many

Research shows that international students are at an increased risk of experiencing sexual violence and may be less likely to report an incident. 1 is 2 Many encourages all students to report sexual violence incidents, no matter the severity. Reporting an incident will not jeopardize an international student's immigration status, or educational opportunities at OSU.

New Student Online Training

At Oklahoma State University we pride ourselves on providing an enlightening college experience, which demands a safe and healthy student environment. To that end, all new students are required to complete 1 is 2 Many Student Training, an online sexual violence prevention program. This video-based program will provide critical information about consent, bystander intervention, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and more. Our videos have closed captions in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic, which are accessible at the bottom left corner of the video player.

Confidentiality

Confidential services are provided to students so they may share and discuss an instance of sexual violence, without their information being shared with others. However, not all reporting options are confidential.

Trusting Authorities

It is understandable to be wary of authority figures, which may include police or law enforcement, especially when one is unfamiliar with the laws, judicial practices, culture and so forth. Oklahoma State University and Stillwater Police Department officers believe that one sexual assault is too many, regardless of an individuals race, sex, or nation of origin.

Deportation

Deportation is a very real fear that many international students have, especially when an incident of sexual assault or violence has occurred. Deportation is not a likely outcome of reporting an incident of sexual violence. It is highly unlikely that incidents of sexual violence will effect an international student's residency, unless it is deemed a highly violent and malicious crime by officials.
